CFSL Annual Report 2024

ACE Graduates’ Testimonials This journey so far has been an incredibly enriching experience for me. The opportunity to rotate through multiple departments has given me invaluable exposure to different aspects of the job, broadening my understanding of the organisation while allowing me to apply my academic knowledge in real world scenarios. Each rotation offered unique learning opportunities, allowing me to develop new skills and gain deeper insights into various roles. Ultimately, this programme has been instrumental in helping me discover where my true passion lies, empowering me to make informed career choice like what I want and need to work on. Furthermore, I believe I am enhancing my communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills. This is thanks to the friendly environment here whereby everyone integrates me and encourages me to participate in Cim events (music day, motor show, etc.). I also benefited being mentored by experienced Head of departments. They provided guidance and insights, essential to navigate myself and learn maximum from them. Overall, I must say my journey has been a great and valuable one. I was truly happy with how well we were integrated into the company. We were treated like everyone else, with our coaches and mentors trusting and believing in us enough to seek our input on projects and events. This hands-on learning experience allowed us to build and refine our skills while growing through challenges. We had the opportunity to participate in meetings, share our feedback, and network, making valuable connections. Overall, this programme has been a two-way learning experience, where we, as young professionals, gained knowledge through real-world work, while the company benefited from our fresh ideas and suggestions. The diverse work methods and perspectives I encountered during my rotations across various departments have shaped my own approach. One of the key drivers for me was my determination to create a meaningful experience, staying resilient and adaptable throughout. The ACE Graduate Programme has been a standout experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Cards department, working across both Issuing and Acquiring divisions, as well as with the Payments Projects team. My work has been stimulating, engaging, and, above all, meaningful. From my very first day, I felt valued and respected by my colleagues, particularly our Head of Department, Kaamil, whose coaching, mentorship, and thoughtful assignment of impactful tasks have significantly accelerated my growth as a young professional. The transition from university to the workforce is undoubtedly challenging, but the ACE programme has made this process seamless, exciting, and, most importantly, enjoyable. I’ve had the opportunity to develop resilience by tackling challenging tasks and to pursue excellence in key areas, always supported by my team’s guidance and encouragement. What truly sets the ACE programme apart is its expert and thoughtful design. Even as an expat unfamiliar with the Mauritian corporate environment, I was able to immerse myself in meaningful projects and gain invaluable knowledge. In moments of challenge, I always felt supported – whether by my team or HR – who were there to listen and guide me. Overall, I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and the growth it has enabled. – Samkeliso Malwande Dlamini – Tamira Nobin – Hanshini Nuckcheddy 61 Introduction Group Overview Leadership Strategy & Performance Risk Management Corporate Governance Statutory Disclosures Financial
