CFSL Annual Report 2024

Social Inclusion Advancing Social Inclusion Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Cim Finance embodies the humanity at the heart of our business – a meaningful way to connect with our community members. Our commitment extends beyond compliance; it is deeply woven into our values and culture, guiding our actions to address pressing societal challenges, particularly within underprivileged areas. These efforts align with the UN’s principles of leaving no one behind, ensuring that our initiatives promote inclusive development and a just transition, particularly for those most vulnerable. A testament to this dedication is our ongoing engagement with the residents of Cité Coeur Immaculé de Marie (CIM) since 2015. In the aftermath of the devastating floods in 2016, which left several families homeless, we initiated housing projects to provide stable and secure living conditions for those affected. Despite the past year’s complex economic landscape, we have intensified our community-driven efforts via Cim CSR Fund Ltd, from sponsorships and employee-driven projects, all rooted in three core pillars: Education, Environment, and Engagement. In FY 2024, we successfully recouped 25% of the mandatory contributions to the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA), allowing us to reinvest into our own projects aimed at fostering more resilience, empowerment and autonomy in our communities. We work hand-in-hand with social groups to drive large-scale, impactful initiatives. Our focus is on building stronger, more resilient communities, especially for children, teenagers, and women. By promoting sports and its associated values, we contribute to community wellbeing and social cohesion. Education is a fundamental right that shapes the quality of an individual’s life, empowering people to contribute to their community and country. We emphasise the importance of financial literacy in driving people towards smarter decision-making, self-sufficiency, and economic empowerment. Environmental sustainability is about taking thoughtful, responsible actions that go beyond mitigation to create a lasting positive impact on the environment. Guided by a vision for long-term progress, we leverage our resources to support essential environmental and social infrastructure.
