Our very existence and identity as a facilitator of capital gives us the responsibility to catalyse inclusive growth and progress, making us part of the social fabric of the areas we serve, and of the communities within them. Guided by our core value of being a caring corporate citizen, we strive to go beyond our traditional role and use our ingenuity, innovation capacity and capabilities, carefully honed over many decades, to address the most pressing challenges facing our environment and society. In 2023, the surge in inflation and soaring prices of energy, goods and services have affected vulnerable communities around the island, who are still recovering from the adverse effects of the pandemic. The harsh reality of the cost of living crisis has hindered their ability to afford even the most basic necessities. In this context, we have intensified our efforts to steer Cim Finance’s initiatives towards community support programmes to restore their resilience. The Cim CSR Fund remains the vehicle through which we channel our CSR funds, which are then deployed across three main pillars, THE THREE “E”s. 48 CIM FINANCE ANNUAL REPORT
