CFSL Integrated Report 2023

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT Becoming a Learning Organisation is one of our strategic intents that drives our learning pursuit. Learning remains fundamental for skilling, reskilling and upskilling our workforce to enable them to remain relevant and competitive in their field and to quickly adapt to the evolving needs of our business landscape. Our learning Experience: CFSL offers an immersive digital learning platform enabled through mobile and social connect where learning can happen with a ‘nomad’ outlook and at each individual pace. Amongst the different modalities to develop and grow our people, we have also empowered our people to transition into nontraditional career path for their own individual development and power the organisation success. Our in-built AI and machine learning embedded on the learning platform definitely makes learning more accessible and targeted. Our learning circles branded as ‘Community of Practice’ and our ‘Thought Leadership Lab’ where industry expert leaders connect to share invaluable insights to nurture not only knowledge but sharing of good practice, build confidence of our learners and great mind connection. Overall, our learning is carefully crafted to meet the learners’ learning preference, in compliance with regulations, internal policies and annual recertification of mandatory trainings. - Manager Bootcamp – Mauritius and Kenya As a continuation of our strengths-based learning strategy, which began with our identified Talents, we resumed the Manager Bootcamp journey for the middle management band. This training programme, in partnership with Gallup Certified Coaches, was designed to enhance their leadership and management skills by focusing on their unique individual strengths. Leveraging the Clifton Assessment tool, we identified the dominant strengths of our middle management team, and shared the insights gained from the assessment to build their self-awareness on their top talents and how to leverage their strengths to become better managers. This initiative not only supports Leadership alignment and fosters a more engaging workplace, but it also deepens the capabilities of our managers and teaches them how to take action to develop their full potential as leaders. The Manager Bootcamp will be a continuous component in our learning and development plan for newly appointed Managers in the foreseeable future, and will also be extended to managers at Aspira in Kenya. - Group CEO Power Hour: Lessons learnt about Leadership The ‘Group CEO Power Hour’ initiative provides a platform for middle management to learn valuable leadership lessons and practical insights directly from the Group CEO. The series kickstarted with an enriching session on the professional pathway of our Group CEO. This interactive Manager Bootcamp session marks the beginning of a quarterly series, where our middle management team will have the opportunity to engage in interactive learning sessions on different topics critical to their roles within the organisation, including Leadership, Strategy, Human Centricity and Digitalisation.
